First payments to cut in default: Entire Congressional Budget payments, pay checks for

Congress members, all staff, all benefits {including health insurance, see how they like it} and utilities, a/c, and lighting {they are in the dark anyway}.

1. Hope so.

Fed employee salaries were on list of 'no pay' items on Rachel show last night, and I sure hope there's no special dispensation for Congress.

Remember the new repug who, while campaigned against health care bill, upon arriving at Hill for their orientation, exclaimed 'where's my health insurance?'

2. Trouble with that is that the Constitution says that

Members of Congress "shall be paid..."

Now, that does not mean their staffs have to be paid, but the actual members will be paid.
