I am in favor of telling Canada to take a hike. And if they don't like it, we'll invade them and take their oil, like all good empires do. In fact, what the hell are we waiting for? Let's get Canada!

It may actually be a nice place to live in about 10 years.

Plus, we get most of our oil from Canada. How come it isn't our 51st state?

Imagine a new state with more people and more land than Texas, that also used to be its own country (successfully), includes French speaking population, has health care and various forms of social assistance, and provides huge amounts of Oil and even cattle?

Texas would get a complex. Can't be havin' that now can we?

The way you put it, Canada looks like we should wrap our arms around it and make it family.
Shouldn't take but a couple of weeks to close the deal.

In my dream world each Canadian province would become a new US state. As would DC. PR, Guam and the other territories would either have to apply for statehood or go their own way. California and Texas and maybe others would get split up into multiple states. If we tried we could probably hit 75.

I think that this would bring a new era to politics, and change the social structure in some important ways. It would hard, a bit chaotic. But I think in the end it would be a boon to everyone involved. But it will never happen that way. It does not benefit the powerful. Plus the practical side of doing such a thing would be a nightmare. Plus, I imagine most Canadians like being Canadian.

We would have several new civil wars. And instead of sending our war dollars overseas, they'd be spent right here at home in the 75 United States.

want you to know, that I live in the U.S.A. and was born here in the U.S.A...so..Chicago to be exact...
