Contacted my representative today-unfortunately a Republican
Tim Murphy of Pennsylvania: This is what he has posted on his web site:

House to Vote Today on Budget Control Act

I told the staffer, that the vote is one in which to raise the debt ceiling, not to control the budget. That everything else was ancillary and needed to be addressed in other bills. Staffer said that Murphy understands that! I'll watch his vote & see what he believes. I told staffer that I and many of Murphy's constituents are not stupid, that we know exactly what is happening.

1. I ended up screaming at mine "Raise Taxes! Raise Taxes!"
She kept informing me that they HAD to cut spending. I told her when our budget was low, we didn't cut out food, we went out and made more money. In government, that meant raising taxes.

4. Hi neighbor!
I'm in District 18, too. Of course, the way it's gerrymandered, you could be clear over in Greensburg. I've been emailing Murphy with the handy form on his Web site.

7. South of Little Washington
You'd think we'd be in the same district as Washington and, indeed, we used to be. But then they made this ridiculous district and we're with Mt. Lebanon and Greensburg.
