The New American Dream: Retirement
http://www.thestreet.com/story/11198531/1/the-new-american-dream-retirement.html

It used to be a house, now it's just trying to survive retirement.

1. The alternative seems to be DIE
They don't care about the young, poor, middle class, etc., etc. Why should these Teabaggers care about old people?

2. That. Is. So. Depressing.
Depressing, because it's true. At least for me, and most of the people I know.

7. True for me also. I've taken so many financial hits in the last five years
I'm down to my last dollars. Just surviving now. I'm taking SS early...I'm almost 64. I need a job nthough to supplement. I know,Iknow. Anyway, I'm thinking that I need to meet others in the same boat and we're going to have to combine resources and live the best damn life we can forge. I actually believe it could be pretty good. I'll be damned if 'they' are going to make the last years of my life frickin' miserable.

I wonder if there's a category for this sort of arrangement on Craigslist?

9. You know, I've heard in Europe they used to do this more readily, people open
up their house to share resources to survive, not just as renters, etc., but living and sharing together almost like a commune. I think we will see more of this in the US. It seems it would be a good category on Craigslist.

10. I don't want to be passed around by my family as an obligation. So if
I could live with others better than I would most certainly do alone, I think it's a win-win. NOW, where are those other people I need to meet? Ha! Could be almost fun.

May think about approaching Craigslist with such a category. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

4. NONE of this has to happen.
We can shut down the wars, reduce military spending, return to progressive taxation.

None of this has to happen.

But our corrupt leaders are bringing us to this abyss.

IN BOTH MOTHERFUCKING PARTIES!

5. Too many huge profits in the F'en wars, and none screws with the MIC. It's a
disease. As I've told people, do they really think our military is soooo incapable that they can not win wars, or is it the MIC profits are soooo great that they go on and on. And now XE and the rest of the herds are soaking up money. Our major product from the US is war, destruction and rebuilding. It's a damn racket. And we're letting the country go to hell so we can wage war and spread imperialism.

14. Yep, my dad had a great pension, plus medical. When he passed on my mom got
a big chunk of his pension plus medical. He worked hard and got rewarded for years of work. There was none of this BS as now. Most people I knew got pensions and medical benefits. It was part of the deal. Now, your relationship to the corporation is they are sociopaths.
