The bridge debris is massive and will have to be cleared before shipping can safely pass through.

According to AquaMap (digital nautical charts), the main channel is between 50-60 feet deep. Mid-sized ships that can transit the Panama Canal (such as the Dali) are called Panamax and they draw 35-50 feet depending on the ship’s dimensions and the extent of its cargo.

That channel will be closed until enough debris is cleared to allow safe passage.
