I learned this when I randomly met Mr. Clinton one fine spring afternoon on The Bowery; when I called him "Mr. President" he chuckled and corrected me, "Oh no, I'm just Mr. Clinton now
" with a slightly exaggerated sad expression.
That was a fun day.
