I would say that 70% of CNN's coverage of the trial today

is bashing Cohen. I recorded Wolf Blitzer's show and fast forwarded through it. They did cover the dressing down of Costello, but other than that it has all been "Cohen is a liar!" "Cohen is a thief!" One of their guests reminded Wolf that Cohen was hired by cheato, and he is not the one on trial.

Forty minutes into the show, they began a separate segment on Cohen, going through all his misdeeds and lies already covered at the beginning.

I don't know about you, but I get that he's a liar. I don't need it repeated for forty minutes. MSNBC is so much better and so much more insightful. Andrew Weissman pointed out that we only know about Cohen's theft because he admitted it, but we are not to believe anything else he says even with supporting evidence?
And I'm sure Lawrence will have much more interesting coverage tonight.

"Red as a strawberry"

No, not cheato. According to Hugo Lowell on twitter, Costello was red as a strawberry after his dressing down by the Judge.

Welcome to life outside the FAUX bubble, dude!

Hope he goes on his favorite network tonight and gets himself sanctioned.

What do you think of this attitude?

Charlie Sykes and David Frum both think Biden should NOT debate cheato. They think it elevates the former guy. The attitude, according to them, should be that a person under federal indictment charges who tried to overturn democracy should not be able to stand on the stage next to the POTUS.

I kind of like the attitude because it so unlike the always bending over backwards to be almost inhumanly fair routine that the Dems always adopt. I don't think that attitude has served us well. And it's true: cheato does not deserve to stand next to Joe. Just as a general matter.

I sense a total capitulation by the corporate media incoming

The media has reported and so far is still reporting that cheato challenged Biden to debates "anytime, anyplace". Biden accepted with his terms. So far so good.

How long until that is completely forgotten, cheato makes unreasonable demands and the corporate media goes along with it? I already saw a little hedging this morning when Chris Jansing had a sad because cheato needs a live audience and is so skillful at using it to his advantage.

Will the corporate media hold cheato to his "anytime, anyplace" dare?

Lawrence O'Donnell, ladies and gentlemen

He will be on later on his own show, (remember to watch if you want the best coverage on cable news of today's proceedings), but he was just on Chris Hayes show, and he is just so refreshing.

Made the point that by not allowing the trial to be televised, the system has robbed the American people of seeing just how fair this trial is. It has also made it easier for cult minions like Mike Johnson to smear the proceedings based on nothing, since the average person can't see what's going on.

Looking forward to his show tonight!

Andrea, Katy, and Chris

How many times can you ask how this is bad for the Dems? Is that all you can think of? Does it take three of you get that lame RW talking point across?

I have news for you. You're not earning your million dollar paychecks and you're not journalists. If you want to be R spokespeople, go for it.

I am so glad that I recorded this and can fast forward through it. Just saw Tur go off on Steele, of all people. When you can't handle wishy washy Michael Steele because he might be hurting cheato, you are really off the rails.

Katy Tur vs Lawrence O'Donnell

Lawrence is in the courtroom. He was describing the doofus parade of VP candidates showing up to support their idol. Today it was JD Vance and Tuberville. I was enjoying Lawrence's description of Vance on his phone the whole time (isn't that against the rules?) while Tuberville apparently was more attentive. Tur became very animated and said but Vance tweeted that it was understandable why trump was falling asleep, that he is 39 and almost fell asleep! She really sounded as if that was some kind of defense and she was defending both Vance and cheato.

Lawrence kind of skipped a beat as he absorbed this outburst, and then said something along the lines of okay that is how the VP brigade is defending this and went on to ridicule it some more. He wasn't rude, but he made it clear what he thought of that.

I enjoyed it when Tur was on vacation last week I must say.

"I know."

I'd like to start with a very brief and funny story about my early childhood. My late mother (Happy Mother's Day in Heaven, Mom) loved to tell of when she would take me to the grocery store as a toddler and the old ladies at the store would gather around and exclaim about how cute I was. This went on for a while, and I guess at about the age of three I had had enough. When someone told me I was cute, I calmly replied, "I know." Apparently it brought down the house.

Why am I bringing this up? Well, although I found this story extremely embarrassing throughout my childhood and teen-age years, I think I knew down deep that I had not been full of myself or conceited when I three. Instead, I had had a calm self-confidence. I never really achieved that again, but if you have it, it can be very powerful.

Lately, I have been wishing that the Democratics were more like me when I was three years old. I wish they could speak the truth briefly and calmly about what
they have achieved over the past few decades and how R's will take it all away.
Civil rights? We did that. Minimum wage and 40 hour work week? We did that. Reproductive rights? We did that. Marriage equality? We did that. Et cetera.
Talk about it. Take credit. And make comparisons and contrasts.

It is not bragging if it is true. And although most Dems are nice people who don't want to brag or come off as full of themselves, those rules are gone now. We are up against a monster who take all of that away. We need to have the same confidence and boldness that I had at the age of three.

Why not? We've earned it.

Did you guys know that

that all the liberal singers vote for cheato? All of them? Or that he pulled a bigger crowd than Springsteen in NJ tonight?

Brought to you from the cult rally. And you know you can take that to the bank.
I think he's been forced to come up with some new lies since he's under a gag order.

Alex Wagner is covering the sexism of Stormy coverage

Just started. But fair warning: the beginning is barf inducing clips from FAUX. Really heavy handed faux "macho" crap. Makes CNN look positively enlightened by comparison.
