Can a city secede from a state?

We know that states cannot secede from the union, but can a city secede from a state? What if the city of Austin wanted to secede from the state of Texas and be its own territory (or potential state).

1. We live in the most polarized electorate maybe in our history. Any poll that has an equal number of Republicans, Democrats is basically going to show that the race is essentially tied.

2. Any lead by either candidate has to be well outside the margin of error (MOE) to be taken seriously.

3. The election will be decided by turnout. Polls that rely on self-reporting about a future activity may be unreliable. Who actually votes is something that pollsters struggle to model. It was easier when voters would cross party lines to vote. Today, Republicans who personally despise Trump will still vote for him. See Bill Barr.

Again, I ask, "what is the Republican plan for tackling inflation?"

I've asked Trump supporters this repeatedly, and I've yet to get a satisfactory answer. What is Trump's plan? All I get back is, he will cut taxes, de-regulate, and open up more domestic oil production. That's all that I get.

Sorry. We're not a great nation. We're pretty far from being one. There's nothing admirable nor aspirational about Trump. His only claim to fame is the wealth that he inherited and squandered.

Sure, there are pockets of the nation that are terrific, but on the whole, we are terrible.
